| 2010.05.24 | State of emergency in Kingston; A State of Emergency has been called for by Jamaican PM Bruce Golding for parts of Kingston and St. Andrew, which began at 6 pm local time and expected to last for at least a month. Police are trying to get hold of druglord Dudus but locals have put up barricades to prevent an arrest. Dudus is to be extradited to the United States. | 2010.05.11 | Voice Mail member shot and seriously injured; O'Neil Edwards, one of the three members of dancehall harmony group Voice Mail was ambushed at his Kingston home early yesterday morning. He was shot at least five times and one bullet probably entered the back of his head. He was taken to the hospital where he is now battling for his life. | 2010.05.05 | Sizzla receives Zimbabwean farm as payment; Jamaican superstar Sizzla was recently rewarded a farm in Chegutu as payment for his performance at Mugabe's 86th birthday party last February. Sizzla is apparently unaffected by new laws which say that new entrants into the agriculture sector have to be black Zimbabweans. | 2010.04.02 | Louie Culture in shooting incident; Friday afternoon Louie Culture (41) was shot and hit just above his left elbow and in the lower arm. The shooting took place near a tyre shop whose owner was also wounded in the assault. The incident followed another one that involved Louie Culture's car one week before and for which he was heard by the police.
